Two things shipped in the same week, from the same company, aimed at completely different buyers. Neither is really about the technology. Both are about who gets to switch it on.
The enterprise track went live
On 15 September 2026, Salesforce in Claude moved from pilot to beta, timed to land alongside Salesforce's own Dreamforce conference. It ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills covering account research, call prep, pipeline review, and CRM updates. That's the same skill count promised back in August when Claudeforce was first announced, now actually shipping rather than pending.
The detail that matters more than the skill count is this. It isn't something an individual rep switches on. A Salesforce admin connects it once for the whole organisation and chooses which groups get access, requested through AgentExchange. An account executive on their own Pro plan can't self-activate it. If your company hasn't rolled it out, no amount of personal enthusiasm gets you in early.
How Salesforce in Claude switches on
A single account executive cannot start this chain on their own.
The small-business track went the other way
The same day, Anthropic pushed an update to Claude for Small Business in the opposite direction. Twenty-seven new integrations, bringing the tool to 43 total workflows, including a "Speed to Lead" feature that drafts a reply to an after-hours enquiry using real openings from your calendar and logs it to your CRM. The product has been installed more than 900,000 times since its original May 2026 launch.
No admin, no org-wide rollout, no waiting on IT. Anthropic's own instructions are as simple as telling Claude "set me up" and connecting a tool or two yourself. It works on a personal Pro plan, not just Team or Enterprise.
How Claude for Small Business switches on
No admin request and no rollout plan in between.
What the gap actually means
Put the two side by side and the interesting question stops being "should sales teams use AI agents." It's whether you need someone's permission first. If you sell inside a company running Salesforce, the enterprise version is likely a conversation for your next IT or ops planning cycle, not something you can try this afternoon. If you're an individual rep, a founder selling solo, or running a small team, most of what shipped this week already works without asking anyone.
| Same week, same company | Salesforce in Claude | Claude for Small Business |
|---|---|---|
| Shipped | 15 Sept 2026, open beta | 15 Sept 2026, feature update |
| Who switches it on | Admin, org-wide | You, on your own account |
| Setup | Requested via AgentExchange | Say "set me up," connect a tool |
| Plan required | Salesforce + Claude org accounts | Personal Claude Pro plan |
| What's new | 37 prebuilt sales skills | 27 integrations, 43 workflows total |
That split is worth remembering the next time someone says "AI is changing sales" as if it's one single thing happening to everyone at the same pace. It isn't. Access is the actual bottleneck right now, not capability.
Where rAInmaker fits
Same logic applies to a coaching tool. rAInmaker runs on your own Claude account from day one, no admin request, no rollout plan, no waiting for anyone else's approval. If that's the kind of AI sales tool you're after, the free Lite tier is a two-minute setup.
